Horwath to McGuinty: “Shake the lead out.”

Queen's Park

MPP Andrea Horwath says Dalton McGuinty needs to shake the lead out at Metrolinx and finally deliver Hamilton a light rail line.

Metrolinx, the government’s regional transit agency, promised a long-delayed definite answer on a Hamilton transit line would come this afternoon. But that decision has again been delayed.

“Hamilton is tired of the McGuinty government’s hurry-up-and-wait attitude around light rail transit. The Premier needs to insist that transit approvals for Hamilton come forward. Hamilton needs a transit timetable that is on track.

Horwath noted that McGuinty visited Hamilton and set up expectations that a light rail plan for Hamilton was virtually ready to roll. The MPP says the Hamilton community deserves to have certainty and support from the provincial government. Proper planning for the future depends on it, Horwath said.

“Dalton McGuinty needs to shake the lead out.”
