Andrea Horwath has written to Canadian Idol hopeful Brian Melo commending him on his performance and the positive feelings he's ignited all over Hamilton, the hometown both he and Andrea share.

All of Hamilton’s behind you as you advance toward your Canadian Idol goal. I hope you’re aware of all the excitement that’s brewing thanks to you. The City of Hamilton is buzzing over you. I’m writing as MPP on behalf of all my constituents in Hamilton East. All of us are in your corner cheering you on, anticipating your ultimate victory.

Brian, you are exactly what Hamilton needs. A great boost to all of us, generating positive feelings all around this city, your home town and mine.

As great as you are, you’re making Hamilton look great right along with you. Clearly you deserve the Idol title. Congratulations and good luck. Hamiltonians couldn’t be more pleased and proud of your showing.
